In-Home Therapy Family Therapy Symposium

  • Brightside for Families & Children at Providence Hospital 1233 Main Street Holyoke, MA, 01040 United States (map)

The 2016 In-Home Family Therapy Conference features two tracks–one for in-home therapists and one for supervisors of in-home therapists. Each track will have a morning and an afternoon presentation.

The in-home therapy track will be hosted by Dr. Connie Flieger of YOU Inc., who will speak in the morning on social competency and providing quality work for tweens and teens in families, and Howard Wolfe, LMFT, who will discuss the difference between behavior and mis-behavior in children and the systemic implications of child mis-behavior.

The supervision track will be directed by Maria Zygmont, LMFT, program director at Brightside for Families and Children in Springfield, and Jeremiah Gibson, LMFT, president of MAMFT. Maria and Jeremiah will facilitate a conversation about incorporating systems modalities, such as multigenerational, structural, and narrative, into supervising in-home family therapists. She will also provide awareness to self-of-therapist issues, including cultural and sociological factors.

This event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Therapy Training Boston. 6 CEU credits for LMFTs are provided by MAMFT. 6 CEUs for LMHCs are provided through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association. 6 CEUs for social workers and psychologists are provided by TTB through Commonwealth Educational Seminars.
