2018 Symposium

The fifth annual Children's Behavioral Health Knowledge Center Symposium and Gailanne Reeh Lecture was held on June 1 at the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital. Christina Gunther-Murphy, an Executive Director at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) delivered this year's Gailanne Reeh Lecture, titled, "Breaking the Rules for Better Care." Ms. Gunther-Murphy oversees IHI’s Person- and Family-Centered Care Focus Area. In this role, she is responsible for designing and executing the overall portfolio strategy, acting as a spokesperson, shepherding the evolution of content, directing results-oriented initiatives, and contributing to the design of large-scale initiatives. Her lecture described the IHI led, "Breaking the Rules for Better Care" initiative.

2018 CBH INNovation award winner - lahey health behavioral services

The Massachusetts Children’s Behavioral Health Innovation Award, co-sponsored by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation and the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH), is a one-time grant of $10,000 awarded to a non-profit children’s behavioral health or social service organization in recognition of its effort to:

  • Fill an unmet need or gap in the children’s behavioral health care delivery system; or

  • Respond to a “wicked” problem facing the children’s behavioral health field through creation of an innovative program or practice.

Three finalists will be selected to present their innovation at this year's Children's Behavioral Health Knowledge Center Symposium. Symposium attendees will cast their vote for the best of the three and select this year’s Award winner!
